Stephen J. Hamilton attempts to create a "portrait" of "born-again" Christianity by providing a general introduction to the doctrine of regeneration, including its development in modernity, as well as short exegeses of relevant scriptural texts, followed by a close reading of four theologians – Philipp Jakob Spener, Jonathan Edwards, Friedrich D.E. Schleiermacher, and Charles G. Finney – who all associate the doctrine of regeneration with an experience of presence in the individual believer. In light of these analyses, he then traces a general theological structure of the "born-again" understanding of regeneration, including a catalogue of theological issues over which there is significant disagreement, in order to create a topography of "born-again" theologies. In the final section, he applies these results to contemporary conversion narratives of non-theologians. It is in such conversion narratives, the author argues, that theologians can discover an implicit, "lived" theology that reveals how doctrines are perceived and put into practice among Christians. Accordingly, this is to be understood as the result of the creative reciprocity between (often tacit) theological convictions and the experiences of the Christian life. The final chapter, as a coda to the entire work, offers some concluding reflections on the present cultural and political situation in the USA pertaining to "born-again" Christianity and argues against any oversimplifications of the relationship between "born-again" theologies, culture, and politics.

Jesus made it clear in John 3:3-5 that to enter heaven each of us must be born again. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, author Isaac William King will show you how you can be born again, just as Jesus said. And for those who already believe in Christ, Just Be Born Again details how you can know Him intimately.

Without born-again, no eye shall see the kingdom of God. Born-again brings you into the program of God; without born-again you are outside the program of God and your prayer is an abomination to God. Your identity as a born-again gives you the passage/way to the journey to the kingdom of God. It is the fundamental/basic stage of Christiandom. Without you having Christ in you, you have no business with God, no program with God and Holy Ghost have no business with you, for it is the word of God that Holy Ghost sees in man to visit Him. The Word is the light that illuminates the man as house thereby attracts the attention of the Holy Ghost. Without the Word the man is full of darkness an evidence of emptiness or enemy occupant. Christ in you is your hope of glory. Bear in mind therefore that the status of born-again is more precious than all the treasures of the world put together. Protect and cherish it, strive to grow and develop it. This is a treasure in earthen vessel. Man is the earthen vessel containing the treasure (Jesus, the Word of God)

There is an old saying that invention is the mother of necessity and this book is a result of that idea. There would never be a need for such a book if the religions and religious authority would practice their traditions like Native Americans or the Australian aborigines. We know they have their gods, costumes, and traditions and just about everyone (bar a few religious fanatics) respects cultural heritage and wants them to revel in their anthropological significance. In the same token, the likelihood that a Native American or aborigine is going to show up at your door preaching that Bahloo, the sun god, is the reason man hates snakes and if you do not accept Bahloo as your savior, you will be walking the desert forever, is essentially non-existent. Your author, Lance Gregorchuk, designed this book to give the free thinker, agnostic, atheist, fence sitter and even believer the facts for the arguments that there can be no god or gods.

Heaven and Hell are futuristic, not currently real, but men's spirits, religion, fear, born-again and heavenly joy are. Men's spirits are dead. That's why men in general cannot have any realistic spiritual understandings and easily devoured by religion. They are born into this world physically, carrying the corpses of spirits. That's also why all men have fear. Fear is the smell of a spirit-corpse. Men of fear, religion and the knowledge of good and evil are not qualified to be in Paradise Regained, but are destined to be thrown into the Hell-fire; the final cleaning step of re-creation. To be freed from fear, religion and the ominous knowledge of good and evil, men must be born-again. It's the only task that all men must have it realized during their life time. It's not the task of men, but God-Almighty's that should be accomplished and realized, never by men's efforts, but totally by God the Father's. Born-again is never man's work, never religious. Man, not as animal-kind, cannot die individually. All men had died, as a whole, at the first death, and will die again at the second universal event of death at the end of human history. Genuine life and death, having nothing to do with existence, are spiritual, not physical as with animals. Man will exist forever either dead or alive. God desires to make all men be born-again with their revived spirits to be qualified for His newly created Kingdom. For God to make a man born-again, man needs to know some basic historical information to be motivated for His re-creation. All natural men, spiritually-dead, are just 'dust'. God needs 'dust' for His new creation of man; not living-dust, which is improbable, but just dead 'dust'. God gave Adam the life, which was spiritual and genuine. But Satan, in the body of a serpent, gave him the knowledge of good and evil. There's something that men must give up to acquire the eternal life, that is, the Satanic knowledge of good and evil, not to speak of all its applications. All religious merits must be denied totally, which are nothing else but the Tower of Babel designed and being built by men based on the Satanic knowledge of good and evil. The Truth that all men must know to be freed by from 'fear of death' is hidden in the jungle of thoughts and history in the Bible. ------------------------ This book is a book of challenge; the challenge of God the Father, the perfect irresistible almighty Love. It'll show whether the Heavenly gate is really open wide or not, and guide any sincere and honest reader to be led into the grasp of the expecting Spirit of the Father who has gone crazy for re-gaining His Own back into His possession from the tenacious grasp of the Serpent; the roaring lion. ------------------------- TITLES: Philosophy, religion, science and logic; Existentialism and Cross; Philosophy of Jesus; The core, the secret of the Bible; The knowledge of good and evil-the shackle; Conquering death; Universal event of the Cross; Contents of faith; Miss-application of 'faith without works'; What is the will of God; Possessing or living; Absurdity of keeping the Law; Freedom to sin; Weakness of God; Adam and Jesus; Judas Iscariot the Jew; Repentance-denial of the knowledge of good and evil; Citizenship of His Kingdom; War of reasoning; Words of revival.

In Kenya's vibrant urban religious landscape, where Pentecostal and traditional churches of various orientations live side by side, religious identity tends to overflow a single institutional affiliation. While Kenya’s Christianity may offer modes of coping with the fragilities of urban life, it is subject to repeated crises and schisms, often fueled by rumors and accusations of hypocrisy. In order to understand the unfolding of Kenyans’ dynamic religious identities, and inspired by the omnipresent distinction between ‘religious membership’ and ‘church visits,’ Yonatan N. Gez considers the complementary relations between a center of religious affiliation and expansion towards secondary practices. Building on this basic distinction, the book develops a theoretical innovation in the form of the ‘religious repertoire’ model, which maps individuals’ religious identities in terms of three intertwined degrees of practice.
