Excerpt from The Cincinnati Lancet-Clinic, Vol. 61: A Weekly Journal of Medicine and Surgery Pleurisy as a complication of ovarian cyst, is discussed by Demons at a meeting of the Paris Société de Chirurgie, (annals dew 05mm). He had observed this complication as often as in nine out of fifty cases. The pleuritic efi'usion may be either uni lateral or bi lateral. Although they usually accompany large cysts, in some instances the latter may be small. In the discussion which followed, Terrier said that he had often noticed the associa tion of pleurisy and ovarian cyst. He always punctured the plural cavity before performing laparotomy when there was extreme dyspnea. Bouilly believed the complication rare, as he had only noticed it twice in twenty five or thirty years. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
